Recreational Scuba Diving Training
Your Journey to become a safe and comfortable scuba diver.




Advanced Speciality Diver:
After you have logged 24 dives and done 4 specialities, you become a SSI Advanced Speciality Diver and receive a digital recognition card.
Navigation:
Safely navigate underwater using both natural and compass navigation techniques. Include on-line learning and 2 open water dives.
Try Scuba is optional, you can go direct to OWD.
Try Scuba Overview:
The SSI Try Scuba program is a quick, entry-level experience designed to let beginners try scuba diving in a safe, controlled environment without committing to a full certification course. You will receive a digital recognition card.
Try Scuba Experience:
After a short on-line course you will spend around an hour in a heated swimming pool to experience the sensation of breathing underwater and weightlessness, under the direct constant supervision of an active SSI Instructor.






Open Water Diver Overview:
The SSI Open Water Diver program is your entry-level certification to become a fully qualified, independent scuba diver. Once completed, it allows you to dive anywhere in the world with a buddy down to a maximum depth of 60 feet (18 meters). Upound certification you receive a digital certification card.
Speciality Diver:
After you have logged 12 dives and done 2 specialities, you become a SSI Speciality Diver and receive a digital recognition card.
React Right:
SSI React Right provides comprehensive training in first aid, CPR, AED, and oxygen administration, equipping you with the vital skills needed to confidently manage medical emergencies both in and out of the water.
Include 1 full day in classroom with hands-on practice and a pool session.


Open Water Diver Experience:
You start with a self-paced online coursework covering scuba theory, basic physics, equipment, and safety protocols. Continue with hands-on practice in a pool to master essential scuba diving skills. Finally, do four checkout dives in open water where you demonstrate your new skills in a real-world environment to earn your certification card.
Speciality Programs












Search & Recovery:
Safely and comfortably perform basic search and recovery dives for small objects. Include on-line learning, 1 pool session and 2 open water dives.
Stress & Rescue:
Identify stress, prevent incidents, and manage common emergency situations encountered by recreational divers. Include on-line learning, 3 pool sessions and 3 open water dives.
Night & Limited Visibility:
Safely and comfortably dive at night or in limited visibility conditions. Include on-line learning and 2 open water dives.
Deep Dive:
Safely conduct open water dives to depths up to 130 feet or 40 meters. Include on-line learning and 3 open water dives.
Enriched Air Nitrox:
Dive breathing enriched air nitrox to safely extend your bottom and shortens your required surface interval.
Dry Suit Diving:
Safely and comfortably dive with a dry suit in cold water. Include on-line learning and 1 pool session and 2 open water dives.
Additional programs to make you an even better diver.




Master Diver:
After you have logged 50 dives, done 3 plus Deep Dive and Stress and Recues specialities, you become a SSI Master Diver and receive a digital recognition card.
Scuba Skills Update:
SSI Scuba Skills Update is a refresher course designed for certified divers returning to the sport after a period of inactivity, allowing them to review essential academic knowledge and practice fundamental in-water skills with a dive professional to safely rebuild their confidence and comfort. Usually include only 1 pool session.






Science of Diving:
The SSI Science of Diving specialty provides an in-depth, theoretical exploration of dive physics, physiology, decompression theory, and equipment, building the advanced knowledge base required to truly understand the mechanics of diving (on-line learning).
Dive Guide:
The SSI Dive Guide program is your first step into professional dive leadership, providing the practical skills and experience required to safely organize, brief, and lead groups of certified divers on underwater excursions. Prerequisites includes Navigation, Night & LImited Visibility, Diver Stress & Rescue and Deep Dive.
Divemaster:
SSI Divemaster isn't a single standalone class, but rather a recognition rating achieved by combining the practical, in-water leadership training of the Dive Guide program with the comprehensive theory of the Science of Diving specialty. Once completed and reached 60 logged dives, you officially earn this first professional-level credential. This rating qualifies you to safely guide certified divers on excursions, act as a certified assistant to instructors during open water classes, and independently conduct introductory programs like Try Scuba in confined water.
