Try Scuba Program Goal:

SSI Try Scuba is an introductory scuba diving program that allows beginners to experience underwater exploration in the Aqua-Hut private 88°F pool without committing to a full certification course. Participants learn basic safety, equipment use, and skills like breathing underwater, followed by a supervised shallow dive to a maximum depth of 10 feet (3 meters). Upon completion, you receive a Try Scuba recognition card and an opportunity to continue training towards a full certification.

Course Description and Structure:

This is a brief introduction, often completed in an hour. Anyone can participate, as long as you meet the minimum age requirement of 10 years old and are comfortable in water. For kids 6 to 9, look at our SSI Explorers class.

Online Training:

• You will do a short online self-study covering safety, basic dive physics, and equipment use. This can be done on a mobile app or a web browser. We recommended completing this before the pool session.

Pool Session:

• It will be scheduled at your convenience during open hours. You'll practice essential skills in the shallow area under the constant supervision of an instructor. This includes learning to breathe underwater and how to equalize your ears. The program culminates in a supervised dive to a maximum depth of 10 feet (3 meters).

• Just come with your favorite swim suit and a towel. A top rash guard or similar, for comfort, can be added.

Try Scuba is optional, you can go direct to OWD.
